Save Ash Ketchum
In the beginning, Ash was voiced by Veronica Taylor, a wonderfully talented voice actress. She was able to bring him to life with youthful enthusiasm and emotion, and did a great job at providing his voice. Veronica voiced him for eight years, until the anime was switched from 4Kids to PUSA. While this meant the anime was liberated from the evil 4Kids, unfortunately, this meant a big chance in the voice actors. Veronica was no longer able to provide the voice of Ash and the role was given to Sarah Natochenny. Though Sarah is not too bad as a voice actress and does a decent job sometimes, she cannot live up to Veronica. Nobody could truly replace Veronica when it comes to the job of providing the beloved voice of Ash. People have fought long and hard to try and bring back the voice actors of old. Rachael Lillis did return to voice Maylene, and the late Maddie Blaustein voiced Chatot in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon special, so it's clear PUSA has no problems with hiring the 4Kids voice actors these days. However, despite the protests of many fans, they have still not listened and given us what we really want- which is to have Veronica Taylor back to reprise the role of Ash. It may have been a few years now since the new voices took over, but surely it is not too late to convince PUSA to bring back Ash's original voice. To many of us, Veronica will always be Ash, and we would love nothing more than to have her back. If you haven't yet, you can try to make a difference. I don't believe online petitions ever work, but it wouldn't hurt to take a minute of your time to sign the Save Ash Ketchum Petition. It's the little things that count after all. You may also want to check out their forum. One day, we may be able to make PUSA finally see sense. It's never too late to make a difference. If we try hard enough, then PUSA might give us what we want and we'll be hearing Veronica in the role of Ash once more.
