Ash's Father
No site dedicated to Ash is complete without one of these, surely? It is a question that has been asked many times by many people over the years and has never been answered. All kinds of possibilities have been thrown up into the air, ranging from Professor Oak to even Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket. Heck, even Ho-Oh has been brought up as a possibility. Ash had a father. That is clear enough. All we really know about the guy is that he went on his own journey to be a Pokémon trainer and he took four days to reach Viridian City. Delia mentioned him in the second episode but he's never been mentioned since, let alone made an appearance. Will we ever see this guy? Well, I sure would like to see this guy and so would the rest of the Pokémon fandom (I sincerely doubt there's anybody who doesn't want to.) Who do I think it is? I think his father is an unknown character who has not yet been shown and the writers may one day show him, if ever. That's right, I don't think his father is an already established character. If the writers were going to show a character who was secretly Ash's father, I think they would at least hint it or would have revealed it by now. It's been a very long time, hasn't it? Some of the suggestions are pretty out there. I mean... Giovanni? This isn't Star Wars, why would the writers do something crazy like making the Team Rocket leader Ash's father? And Giovanni looks absolutely nothing like Ash either. I don't see any similarity between them at all. And Professor Oak? That's insane. He would have been practically robbing the cradle if he was sleeping with Delia ten years before the start of the anime. If he was Ash's father, that would make Ash Gary's uncle and that would just be all kinds of weird, wouldn't it? Yeah, I don't buy this theory. And Ho-Oh? Mr. Mime? Really? How drunk would Delia have to be to... for that matter, can Pokémon breed with humans? I'm pretty sure Ash is one hundred percent human. His father isn't a Pokémon. Sheesh... Of the characters who have appeared on the show... I think the most likely is that Silver guy who showed up in one of the Pokémon Chronicles episodes. It was suspicious how he seemed to know Ash's name, and he said that Richie reminded him of when he was younger, and Richie mentioned how Ash had similar traits. It just seems kind of suspicious, doesn't it? He also saw Moltres on his journey like Ash seeing Ho-Oh and had a Chikorita out of its Poké Ball, like Ash's Pikachu. Will we ever get to find out who Ash's father is? I sure hope so.
